Is your vehicles door hard to close because it doesn’t line up? Does your door sag? This is caused by worn out hinge pins or worn out hinges. Until now there has only been two fixes for this problem. Both fixes require you to remove the door from the vehicle. The first fix is hinge pin replacement. If a shop does the repair it will cost you between $100-$200. If you do it yourself it will be approximately $20 in parts and the repair goes as such. – First you need to support the door with a floor jack – then you need to remove the hinge pins and remove and support the door – next you will need to drill out the pin holes to proper size and install brass bushings in those holes – after that you will need to reinstall the door and insert the new hinge pins ( keep in mind that the door is very heavy so you will need two people for this process ) – once the door is back on the car you check for fit and if it lines up you’re done. This process will take you 2-4 hours if you know what your doing.
The other fix requires you to replace the hinges and that procedure varies from vehicle to vehicle, if a shop does it, this will cost you between $200-$500 depending on your car. If you have no or even a little mechanical experience I don’t recommend you trying this fix. Depending on your vehicle this could get very complicated, and it does in some cases require special tools.
NOW FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THE AUTOMOBILE THERE IS A THIRD FIX, THE SHIM-EZE. THE SHIM-EZE IS THE EZEST FIX ON THE MARKET. WITH LITTLE OR NO MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE, ANYONE CAN INSTALL THE SHIM-EZE IN 5 MINUTES OR LESS BECAUSE THE DOOR DOES NOT HAVE TO BE REMOVED AND THERE ARE NO SPECIAL TOOLS NEEDED. TO INSTALL THE SHIM-EZE ALL YOU NEED IS A FLOOR JACK – A HAMMER – A SCREWDRIVER – A PAIR OF PLIERS – AND 5 MINUTES. THAT’S IT. THAT’S RIGHT IN 5 MINUTES ANYONE CAN PUT NEW LIFE INTO AN OLD SAGGING DOOR!
I AM A MECHANIC WITH OVER 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND I HAVE DEVELOPED THIS PRODUCT SO THAT ANYONE CAN INSTALL IT. IN THIS SITE YOU WILL FIND THE VEHICLES THAT WE COVER AND INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS TO GUIDE YOU THROUGH YOUR INSTALLATION. REMEMBER THE EZE IS IN IT’S NAME, SHIM-EZE!
NOTE: IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOUR TOP OR BOTTOM HINGE IS BAD ON YOUR VEHICLE (OR EVEN BOTH HINGES). INSTALLING OUR SHIM-EZE IN THE BOTTOM HINGE OF YOUR DOOR CORRECTS PROBLEMS WITH EITHER HINGE.
